Event Info

The Beginning

Bowen Tourism & Business was approached in early 2015 by local producers seeking assistance to host a primary industries event centered around a bull sale.  The Reef to Ranges event concept was developed from an early idea of an invitational bull sale, into a weekend showcasing the full range of what our region’s primary producers have to offer, with plans to hold the inaugural event in November 2016.

Bowen Tourism & Business will work with the Bowen Pastoral & Agricultural Association in hosting this event, with further community organisations lending their support. Early funding was attained in mid-2015 through Landcare, to kickstart the event and organize information seminars.

The Reef to Ranges Concept:

Bowen sits in the heart of a primary producing basin that stretches from the Great Barrier Reef to the Great Dividing Range. This event will capture the abundant strength of Bowen’s local primary industries and showcase this vitality to visitors and locals alike.
