2007 Festival Review
The people of Bowen proudly took to the streets during the first weekend of September to welcome back its annual Bowen Lions Charity Festival. The street procession was bigger and better than ever, with 26 floats taking part and most carrying on the Festival’s ‘Night at the Movies’ theme and hundreds of people lining Herbert Street to cheer on the parade.
From the parade hundreds of people made their way to Denison Park for a night packed full of lively entertainment, family activities and of course, the crowning of the 2007 Bowen Lions Charity and Festival Queens – Krystal Lee Maltby and Jacinta Power, both of Bowen, respectively. With help from the Rotary Club and Zonta, the Bowen Lions Charity Festival ran over two weekends and resulted in festival organizers being pleased with the money raised by their festival entrants in this year’s quests.
