Easter in Bowen is looking lively! We've got all the tips on where to go & what to do to make your Easter weekend the best one ever. Let's 'hop' to it:
Arrived early for the weekend? Make sure you packed your walking shoes. A short hike from Horseshoe Bay will take you to the rotary lookout for a super view down on the bay - great for planning your attack on the weekend! (There's where I will lay my towel, that's where I'll eat my fish and chips, that's the reef I'm going to snorkel...)
If you're up for plenty of activity, Bowen has a host of outdoor activities to fill up your weekend.
Good Friday for Aussies means there's only one option on the menu: fresh local seafood on the beach! Grab your local catch from one of our local seafood co-ops, or visit our excellent Fish n Chip shops for a dinner to go. Then all you have to do is pick your spot at one of our beachfront parks and enjoy your feast. There's plenty of free bbq's and picnic shelters, or settle in on the sand to watch the sunset.
In between trying to catch the Easter bunny and catching a few z's on the beach, why not catch the latest new release in Bowen's iconic Summergarden Theatre. Popcorn, air-con, comfy seats: sounds like a plan! Open every day except Good Friday. Check out the movie times here.
After chillin' at the movies, strap on your dancing shoes and head out. Fill up with a feed at one of our local pubs, then rock out to live music at The Grandview Hotel.
It's a bird.. it's a plane... no, it's a giant skydiving Easter Bunny! That's right, the Easter Bunny himself will be jumping out of a perfectly good airplane and landing at Queens Beach. Bring the whole family down for the Easter Egg hunt - more info here
After all the excitement (and chocolate eggs) you'll be needing some serious chill time. Only one thing for it, head to the beach! Must pack items? Towel, snorkel, sunscreen and a good book.
