whitsunday-blue-fashionsAuthentic country racing and fashions inspired by the beautiful Top of the Whitsunday landscape are a draw card for visitors to the Bowen Cup.

Quiet beach hideaway Bowen is inundated with keen race goers every year who come to soak up the gorgeous spring weather and show off the latest in spring racing fashion... and of course catch all the racing action!

Luxe Fashion House owner and 2018 Bowen Cup Fashions on the Field Major Sponsor Trisha O’Sing shared her hot tips for Fashions on the Field success.

“This year the trend is all about reflecting spring with print; floral prints are definitely in!

Remember the rule of 2 or 3 when matching accessories – match shoes & bag; glove & bag; or shoes, bag & fascinator.

Look for inspiration in our landscape – Whitsunday water blue, kapok yellow and even the deep earthy tones of our dramatic granite outcrops!”

The Fashions on the Field scene has grown dramatically over the last couple of years, with Trisha estimating that half the attendees are there for the fashion. “A lot of people travel for it form across the state, even flying in from Brisbane to attend”. Over $5000 worth of prizes have been donated for this year’s Fashion competition winners from businesses across the Whitsundays. Think you have what it takes to be a contender? Full criteria is available from the Bowen Turf Club and registrations are on the day.
