Growers look for workers during the growing season from April to the end of November each year.
The simplest way to find work is to stay at a hostel / backpackers / farmstay where they will help you to find work and may even provide transportation to and from the farm each day.
It is important to check before you arrive in town that there is work available because it is possible for the growing and picking season to be delayed due to weather. For more information and for contact details of some places that will help you find work, please read our FARMING INFORMATION SHEET. The other way to find work is to print off our FARMING MAP and use it to locate local farms. You can then go to the farms directly to see if they are looking for workers (The farms are the GREEN dots on the map).
