Daydream Island Resort & Living Reef is ideally located in the heart of Queensland's Whitsundays Islands and the gateway to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. Following an extensive $140 million redevelopment in 2018-2019, our stylish and tranquil island resort offers a range of refurbished spacious and modern rooms and suites with stunning views overlooking the pool and garden landscapes or with ocean views.
The Living Reef is the main centrepiece of the island which is a unique free form coral lagoon wrapping 200m around the central building and holding over 1.5 million litres of water. The Living Reef is home to over 100 species of marine fish, over 80 species of coral and a variety of invertebrates such as starfish, sea cucumbers and crabs.

Daydream Island is home to three main restaurants offering a range of international and Australian cuisines including a premium Asian fusion dining experience. While each restaurant has its own unique cuisine and style, they all share the relaxed dining atmosphere synonymous with our island.
Along with the three restaurants there are also three bars across the island which includes Tonic Bar, our speciality Gin Bar and Barefoot Bar centrally located amongst the lush gardens by the pool landscape. With our expanded food and beverage oulets we offer our guests a plethora of options catering to their every need.

Our new underwater observatory offers a unique aspect of the Living Reef which is 4 metres below the waters surface where you can watch the marine life in action or take memorable photos of family and friends snorkelling.
The Living Reef further cements Daydream Island's commitment as being eco-friendly whilst providing a strong educational program on the protection and conservation of the area's native coral and marine life.
Daydream Island offers a revitalised pool landscape that sweeps through the tropical gardens across the resort allowing guests to swim and enjoy unparalleled views across the Whitsundays Great Barrier Reef. With a host of activities for to experience such as snorkelling, helicopter tours exploring the islands & surrounding Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, sailboats and jetski hire.
