Bowen Tourism and Business (BTB) is a not-for-profit organisation whose main role is to promote and showcase our beautiful region and its businesses. BTB operates two Visitor Information Centres, works with stakeholders to inspire outstanding visitor experiences and promotes the destination and membership base.

This exciting and dynamic new position will be responsible for:

  • leading the sales team at the Big Mango Information Centre
  • innovating and delivering marketing initiatives for the destination
  • liaising with stakeholders and membership base
  • contributing to the organisation’s direction and strategic business plan.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:


Provide leadership and direction for the BTB sales team, increase sales and bookings in line with KPIs and supervise the delivery of exceptional visitor experiences.


Develop and implement marketing initiatives across digital platforms, print media and work closely with Tourism Whitsundays to ensure Bowen representation in region-wide marketing campaigns.


Actively source new members within the Whitsunday region, work alongside membership base to deliver results and manage sales and maintenance of advertising opportunities.

Executive Administration & HR

Manage the requirements of the Visitor Information Centre, provide support to BTB Committee through reporting and budget management and prepare grant applications as required.


Plan and organise the annual Walk to the Lighthouse, regular networking functions and organisation’s AGM.

Skills and Experience:

A multi-skilled, enthusiastic person willing to learn, communicate and inspire others

Strong management skills to lead a team and deliver results

A genuine passion for the tourism industry and promoting our beautiful region

Qualifications and / or extensive experience in tourism and marketing

Drive to go above and beyond expectations for the benefit of the organisation and the destination

Available to work on weekends

Strong knowledge on social media platforms, website content management and Microsoft software

Experience working with online booking platforms
